The CEO/Founder of IMBUED, LLC, Keisha Gill-Jacob PhD began making premium natural skin and hair care products right inside her own kitchen in 2012 under a different partnership. With much local success and amazing feedback from the natural hair community she was afforded the opportunity to attend tradeshows such as the International Beauty Show (IBS), various vending opportunities, and product placement in 5 Whole Foods Markets in the New York metro.
After a year into the business, Keisha was diagnosed with a serious medical condition. Her family was devastated by the news. After a series of medical test, the results indicated that she needed immediate surgery. With much prayer, support, and patience, Keisha began a long slow recovery. This once devastating situation, renewed her passion to continue fulfilling her dream; bringing affordable premium natural products to everyone. When asked about her experience she shared, “this experience has taught me that you truly learn who you are when you are going through a rough period." Thus, the birth of IMBUED, which means to inspire, permeate, and fill with color. The colorful butterfly depicted in the logo signifies a metamorphous of life, growth, change and energy. Further the bold capital letters IMBUED indicate that no matter what curve ball life may throw at you, you will have the strength to inspire and permeate others with positive energy.
Today, as a family; father, mother, and four beautiful dedicated daughters, IMBUED is on a journey for healthy living. The company makes their own product and even their own labels founded on this belief: what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in your body. Therefore, it is imperative that IMBUEDs' products are affordable so that all who desire can use them. The CEO Keisha says, "we have a customer that was diagnosed with Lupus; she uses our Shea butter bar and body butter consistently". Keisha was very humbled when they customer called to say, "thank you for giving me my life back." "It is times like this that keep us going," says Keisha.
